Her childhood was a turbulent one. At the age of two she left her mother's unfaithful relationship. Pickler returned to her mother in 1995 after she took over custody. It was, however, not a good experience. After Pickler aged 12years old, the court transferred her to her maternal grandparents which raised her to adulthood. With the loss of the parents of her, Pickler became too busy being a parent to her siblings. Pickler said she had no time for studies, she started to learn how to cook and wash at a young age. Pickler was a member of her high school's and middle school's cheerleading squad. North Stanly High School graduated her in 2004. Pickler was also a beauty pageant contestant.
