Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Her mother raised her in the USA, where she faced numerous racial slurs that left her feeling like someone who was not wanted. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she was praised for her singing as she built confidence. Not only did it boost her confidence but her dreams were changed. In 1992, she earned her degree from New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot She played The Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as critical praise. Later in the same year she joined the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. In addition to being a popular singer, she has released two solo albums and an extended piece. She also works as a LGBT activist.
