Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. Ashford is an actor as well as a singer and dancer. Her early performances on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford's last role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford, who was born in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
