Cassandra Monique Batie is a singer, songwriter, and actor from the United States. She specializes in R&B and soul. She is the recipient of various accolades including an Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for the Academy Award. Andra Day is a powerful singer and artful songwriter who does not just play throwback R&B specialist her roots in gospel music and blues performed with ease and finesse translate to today's music. The album she released her debut, Cheers To The Autumn (2015) was an instant success in the genre of R&B/hiphop that earned her a host of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017), her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen and Take Your Troubles Away and The United States Versus Billie Holiday All three singles are building anticipation for the release of her new album. Andra Day has been born Cassandra Monique Batie, in Edmonds Washington. She grew up around San Diego and the metropolitan city. She sang in church and attended The School of Creative and Performing Arts. When she left the school she leaned toward modern R&B and pop music, but was eventually drawn back to the jazz and soul singers she was exposed to when she was a child. Kai Millard Morris caught her show and offered the music of Day to Stevie Wonder. Motown famous Adrian Gurvitz then introduced Day to veteran music industry figure Adrian Gurvitz. Day was signed by Warner Bros. after gaining an enormous YouTube following along with Gurvitz & Jeffrey Evans Buskin. It was quickly taken up by DJs, who started playing it on the radio. Following her the signing of Warner Bros. Records, she began to work with producer Adrian Gurvitz for the album she released as her first "Cheers to the fall" (2015). This album featured the song"Rise Up" which became an anthem to protests for social justice around the world. Day won two Grammy nominations for the field in the category of Best R&B Album for her album. The album was came out with The United States Vs. Billie Holiday in 2019, A concept album about the life and career of the jazz icon Billie Holiday. The United States against Billie Holiday was released in 2021, the year that she also appeared in the film Holiday. Andi Mathichak was born in America. She started her career on the television series Orange Is the New Black, 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods. Her first film role was in the role of Allyson in the horror series Halloween. Andi is an American actor born in Framingham on 3rd May 1994.
